Walid and Mayssoun opened the first Lebanese vegan restaurant in Lebanon. Coara sits on a hillside in the heart of the Chouf mountains, in a village called Kfar Katra, overlooking the land from which they nurture and care for their precious ingredients.

The couple struggled to open the restaurant, with many questioning the concept of a vegan restaurant, and worrying that it broke with the traditions of Lebanese cuisine.

But for decades the couple have put their devotion into every single dish to create a beautiful and unique restaurant, which has proven that you can create delicious vegan Lebanese food, with a lot of love and passion.
